HR Operations Manager
Location: Hyderabad
Employment Type: Full-time | Work from Office
Experience: 4+ years
About the role
We're looking for an HR Operations Manager to own day-to-day HR operations and statutory compliance administration across a distributed, multi-jurisdiction team.
This is a written-first role by design. You'll be working across a distributed team with thin day-to-day supervision, translating direction into clear, actionable guidance for others — independently, not through live walkthroughs. If you do your best work in writing rather than in meetings, this role is built for that.
What you'll own
-
HR operations & compliance — Statutory compliance across multiple pay-cycle jurisdictions, payroll execution, and keeping employee records and personal data handled appropriately. Resolving employee conflicts and compliance-adjacent people issues.
-
HR systems — Day-to-day configuration and administration of our HRMS platform, including making system changes to support process improvement — not just operating it as built.
-
Performance cycle management — Running our KPI-based performance review cycle end to end: chasing deadlines, checking review quality, following up with reviewers and reviewees, and feeding insights into how the next cycle's KPIs are shaped. Supporting defined employee retention activities, including identifying recurring people concerns and coordinating appropriate follow-up with leadership.
-
Talent & succession support — Supporting leadership on talent and succession planning, and coordinating on resulting roles. Once a candidate is finalised through our hiring pipeline, you'll take over offer issuance, compensation negotiation, and onboarding, and can step in to cover the pipeline during short absences or transitions.
-
Culture & engagement — Coordinating with local leads so they can drive culture and engagement across our distributed offices.
-
Learning & development — Making sure employees complete their L&D goals.
What this role doesn't own
-
Strategic HR direction and firm-wide people policy sit above this seat.
-
Candidate sourcing, screening, and interview scoring through to shortlist stay with our Talent Acquisition function — this role picks up from final selection onward (offer, onboarding, offboarding).
-
Day-to-day performance management for individual teams stays with local leads — this seat runs the firm-wide review cycle mechanics, not individual targets.
What we're looking for
Must-have:
-
Demonstrated experience across core HR functions — compliance, payroll, performance management, employee lifecycle, HR systems.
-
Demonstrated experience working in a distributed, asynchronous, written-first team, operating effectively without live, real-time supervision.
-
Hands-on experience with a modern HRMS platform, with the ability to configure and adapt it to support process improvement, not just use it as built.
Strongly preferred:
-
Background in HR compliance or statutory administration spanning more than one jurisdiction or pay-cycle regime.
-
Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume operating environment.
-
Prior exposure to running or supporting a structured KPI-based performance review cycle.
-
Comfortable navigating both peer-level and wider employee conflicts — someone who listens well, acknowledges what people are feeling, and can still land on the call that's best for the firm.
