About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Node.js Backend Developer to join our development team.
You will be responsible for building and maintaining backend systems, developing APIs, integrating databases and third-party services, and working closely with our mobile and frontend developers to deliver reliable web and mobile applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain scalable backend applications using Node.js.
- Design, develop, and maintain REST APIs.
- Work with Express.js or similar Node.js frameworks.
- Design and manage databases using MongoDB and/or SQL databases.
- Implement authentication and authorization using technologies such as JWT.
- Integrate third-party APIs, payment gateways, notifications, cloud services, and other external services.
- Write clean, reusable, and maintainable backend code.
- Implement proper validation, error handling, logging, and API security.
- Optimize APIs and database queries for better performance.
- Debug and resolve backend issues and production bugs.
- Work closely with mobile app developers, frontend developers, designers, and project teams.
- Participate in requirement discussions and convert business requirements into backend solutions.
- Use Git for version control and collaborate effectively with the development team.
- Support application deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
Required Skills
- 1–3 years of hands-on experience with Node.js backend development.
- Strong knowledge of JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
- Good experience with Node.js and Express.js.
- Strong understanding of REST API development.
- Experience working with MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar databases.
- Good understanding of database design, relationships, queries, and optimization.
- Experience with authentication and authorization mechanisms.
- Understanding of API security and backend security best practices.
- Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows.
- Good debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Basic understanding of deployment and cloud environments.
Good to Have
- Experience with TypeScript.
- Experience with NestJS.
- Knowledge of Redis, caching, queues, or background jobs.
- Experience with real-time communication using WebSockets / Socket.IO.
- Experience integrating payment gateways and third-party APIs.
- Familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms.
- Basic knowledge of Docker and CI/CD.
- Experience building backends for mobile applications.
- Understanding of scalable backend architecture and microservices is an added advantage.
