Key Responsibilities
- Operation Theatre Preparation: Sterilize OT instruments, prepare surgical trays, and check specialized ophthalmic machinery (e.g., phaco machines, microscopes, lasers) prior to procedures.
- Surgical Assistance: Assist surgeons and ophthalmologists during surgical procedures by passing instruments, maintaining aseptic conditions, and monitoring patient status.
- Patient Care & Safety: Prepare patients for surgery, assist with positioning, apply topical eye drops or anesthesia as directed, and escort patients safely to recovery areas.
- Infection Control: Enforce strict hygiene, infection control protocols, and bio-medical waste management standards within the surgical suite.
- Inventory Management: Monitor OT consumable stock (IOLs, drapes, sutures, solutions), report shortages, and maintain equipment maintenance logs.
Key Requirements
- Education: Diploma or Degree in Operation Theatre Technology (DOTT / BOTT), B.Sc Nursing, or General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM).
- Experience: 1–3+ years of hands-on experience as OT staff or OT technician, ideally within an eye hospital or ophthalmic surgical department.
- Certifications: Valid nursing registration or relevant OT technical certifications where applicable.
- Skills: Expert knowledge of infection control, sterilization procedures (autoclaving), and basic emergency response protocols; strong teamwork and calm composure under pressure.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
