1. Patient Care Management
- Assess patients’ health conditions and develop nursing care plans.
- Administer medications, injections, IV fluids, and treatments safely.
- Monitor vital signs and patient progress.
- Assist doctors during examinations and medical procedures.
- Provide emergency and critical care when required.
- Ensure infection control and patient safety protocols are followed.
2. Supervision and Leadership
- Supervise junior nurses, nursing assistants, and support staff.
- Allocate duties and prepare shift schedules.
- Guide and mentor newly recruited nurses.
- Ensure nursing practices comply with hospital policies and standards.
- Handle conflicts or issues within the nursing team.
3. Clinical Coordination
- Coordinate with doctors, pharmacists, lab technicians, and other departments.
- Ensure timely investigations, reports, and treatments for patients.
- Maintain continuity of patient care during shift handovers.
- Participate in ward rounds and multidisciplinary meetings.
4. Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain accurate patient records and nursing notes.
- Prepare reports on patient conditions and incidents.
- Ensure proper documentation of medications and procedures.
- Monitor inventory of medicines and medical supplies.
5. Training and Quality Assurance
- Conduct orientation and training programs for nursing staff.
- Educate patients and families about treatment plans and home care.
- Participate in quality improvement and accreditation activities.
- Ensure adherence to ethical and legal nursing standards.
6. Administrative Responsibilities
- Assist nursing superintendent or ward in-charge in administrative duties.
- Monitor ward cleanliness, equipment maintenance, and resource utilization.
- Ensure adequate staffing during shifts.
- Participate in audits and inspections.
