We are looking for an experienced Production Manager / CNC Machine Shop Manager to oversee daily machining operations, production planning, manpower management, quality control, and continuous improvement activities. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring on-time delivery, optimum machine utilization, productivity improvement, and adherence to quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Planning & Management
- Plan, schedule, and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly production activities.
- Manage CNC/VMC/turning machine shop operations to achieve production targets.
- Ensure maximum machine utilization and minimize downtime.
- Allocate manpower, machines, tools, and resources effectively.
- Track production progress and ensure on-time customer delivery.
Machine Shop Operations
- Oversee CNC/VMC programming, machining processes, setup, and cycle time optimization.
- Review drawings, machining feasibility, process planning, and manufacturing methods.
- Improve machining processes to reduce rejection, rework, and production cost.
- Coordinate fixture development, tooling selection, and process improvements.
- Ensure proper machine maintenance and preventive maintenance schedules.
Quality & Process Control
- Ensure components are manufactured as per engineering drawings and customer specifications.
- Maintain quality standards including dimensional accuracy and process compliance.
- Coordinate with Quality team for inspection and customer quality requirements.
- Implement continuous improvement activities such as Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and productivity improvement.
Team Management
- Lead CNC/VMC operators, setters, programmers, supervisors, and production teams.
- Provide technical guidance and training to shop floor employees.
- Monitor operator performance, discipline, safety, and work allocation.
- Develop a skilled and efficient production team.
Inventory & Coordination
- Coordinate with Purchase, Stores, Quality, Design, and Planning departments.
- Monitor raw material availability, cutting tools, consumables, and fixtures.
- Support vendor development and outsourcing activities when required.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain production reports, machine utilization records, downtime reports, and efficiency data.
- Ensure proper documentation as per company/customer requirements.
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of CNC/VMC machining processes.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, GD&T, and tolerances.
- Knowledge of CNC/VMC programming, tooling, fixtures, and machining parameters.
- Experience handling precision components and batch production.
- Problem-solving skills for machining and production issues.
- Knowledge of ISO/AS9100 quality systems will be an advantage.
Pay: ₹18,345.67 - ₹35,000.00 per month
