Mechanical Engineer – Plant Maintenance
Roles & Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and monitor preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities for all mechanical equipment and plant machinery.
- Ensure the smooth and reliable operation of production machines and utility equipment.
- Troubleshoot and rectify mechanical breakdowns to minimize machine downtime and production losses.
- Carry out maintenance and repair of CNC machines, VMC, HMC, VTL, compressors, pumps, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, conveyors, and other plant equipment.
- Inspect and maintain mechanical components such as bearings, gears, shafts, couplings, belts, chains, cylinders, valves, and lubrication systems.
- Conduct regular inspection of machines and identify potential failures before breakdowns occur.
- Prepare and implement preventive maintenance schedules as per machine and equipment requirements.
- Analyze repeated breakdowns and perform root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
- Coordinate with the Production Department for timely resolution of machine-related maintenance issues.
- Ensure proper lubrication, alignment, leveling, and installation of mechanical equipment.
- Support the installation, commissioning, shifting, and modification of new and existing machinery.
- Monitor the condition and performance of critical plant equipment and maintain equipment history records.
- Maintain proper records of breakdowns, preventive maintenance, spare parts consumption, and maintenance activities.
- Coordinate with external vendors and service providers for specialized maintenance and repair work.
- Maintain adequate stock of critical mechanical spare parts and maintenance consumables.
- Ensure compliance with plant safety procedures during all maintenance activities.
- Conduct regular inspection of safety guards, emergency systems, and mechanical safety arrangements.
- Support continuous improvement, Kaizen, TPM, and maintenance cost reduction initiatives.
- Improve machine availability, reliability, and overall equipment effectiveness.
- Guide and supervise maintenance technicians and other maintenance personnel.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance reports and submit them to the reporting manager.
Pay: ₹25,323.79 - ₹62,848.28 per month
