Job Purpose
The role involves managing and overseeing the school’s day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accurate accounting, timely reporting, effective cash-flow management, and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
It focuses on maintaining reliable financial records, monitoring receipts and payments, supporting budgeting and financial planning, and providing timely financial information to enable informed decision-making by the school leadership. The role also works closely with internal teams, vendors, parents, auditors, and statutory authorities to ensure financial discipline, transparency, and smooth financial operations at Anandi School, Gurgaon.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the school’s day-to-day accounting and financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and timely recording.
- Maintain and review books of accounts, ledgers, journals, vouchers, and supporting documentation.
- Manage accounts receivable, including fee collections, outstanding dues, receipts, and reconciliation.
- Process and monitor vendor payments, purchase invoices, expenses, and other payables in accordance with approved procedures.
- Perform bank, fee collection, vendor, and ledger reconciliations regularly.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for the school leadership.
- Support the preparation and monitoring of budgets, forecasts, and cash-flow statements.
- Monitor income and expenditure against approved budgets and highlight significant variances and financial risks.
- Ensure timely compliance with GST, TDS, income tax, and other applicable statutory requirements.
- Coordinate with auditors, consultants, banks, vendors, and statutory authorities as required.
- Maintain proper records and documentation for internal and statutory audits and support the closure of audit observations.
- Ensure appropriate financial controls, approvals, and processes are followed across the school.
- Manage and maintain accurate financial data in Tally/ERP/accounting systems.
- Support payroll-related accounting, including salary processing, statutory deductions, and reconciliations, where applicable.
- Review and verify invoices, purchase orders, expense claims, and payment requests before processing.
- Monitor the school’s cash position and working capital requirements and ensure timely availability of funds.
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity of financial and employee-related information.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support management decision-making and operational planning.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, cost efficiency, controls, and reporting systems.
- Ensure compliance with the school’s financial policies, procedures, and delegated approval authorities.
- Work collaboratively with Admissions, Administration, HR, Procurement, and Leadership teams to ensure smooth financial operations.
- Contribute to a culture of financial discipline, accountability, accuracy, and transparency across Anandi School.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS - SR. FINANCE EXECUTIVE
- Accounting Accuracy: Accurate and timely maintenance of books of accounts and financial records.
- Fee & Receivables Management: Effective monitoring of fee collections, outstanding dues, receipts, and reconciliations.
- Payables Management: Timely and accurate processing of vendor payments, invoices, and expense claims.
- Financial Reporting: Timely preparation of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Budget & Cost Control: Effective monitoring of budgets, expenditure, variances, and cost efficiency.
- Statutory Compliance: Timely and accurate compliance with GST, TDS, income tax, and other applicable regulations.
- Bank & Ledger Reconciliation: Regular and accurate reconciliation of bank accounts, ledgers, fees, and vendor balances.
- Cash Flow Management: Effective monitoring of cash flow and working capital requirements.
- Audit & Documentation: Readiness of financial records and timely support for internal and statutory audits.
- Financial Controls: Adherence to approval processes, financial policies, and internal controls.
- ERP/Data Management: Accuracy and integrity of financial data maintained in Tally/ERP systems.
- Management Support: Timely provision of financial analysis, reports, and insights to support leadership decisions.
- Process Improvement: Identification and implementation of opportunities to improve financial efficiency, controls, and processes.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CA Inter/CA/ICWA qualification will be an advantage.
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in finance and accounting, preferably within a school, education institution, or service-oriented organization.
- Strong working knowledge of Tally/ERP, MS Excel, accounting principles, and financial reporting.
- Sound knowledge of GST, TDS, income tax, statutory compliance, and audit requirements.
- Experience in bank reconciliation, fee/receivables management, payables, budgeting, and cash-flow management.

Pay: ₹700,000.00 - ₹1,200,000.00 per year
