Production Supervisor – Roles & Responsibilities
Experience Required: 1–2 Years
Industry: Heavy Fabrication / Manufacturing
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily production activities on the shop floor to achieve planned production targets.
- Monitor fabrication processes such as cutting, bending, welding, fitting, grinding, and assembly.
- Ensure manpower allocation and effective utilization of workers and contract manpower.
- Maintain production quality as per drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, Stores, and Planning departments for smooth production flow.
- Monitor machine utilization, productivity, and process efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, PPE usage, and 5S practices.
- Track daily production output and prepare shift-wise production reports.
- Identify production issues and coordinate corrective actions to minimize downtime.
- Ensure material availability and proper handling of fabricated components.
- Support implementation of Kaizen, continuous improvement, and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Train and guide operators, welders, fitters, grinders, and helpers on work instructions and safety practices.
- Monitor rejection, rework, and wastage and take preventive actions.
- Maintain discipline, attendance, and workforce productivity on the shop floor.
- Ensure timely completion of fabrication jobs as per production schedules.
Required Skills:
- Basic knowledge of Welding, Fabrication, and Assembly Processes
- Ability to read Engineering Drawings
- Knowledge of Production Planning & Control
- Understanding of Quality Standards and Inspection Requirements
- Good Leadership, Team Handling, and Communication Skills
- Knowledge of Safety Practices and 5S
- Basic Computer Skills (MS Excel, ERP preferred)
Educational Qualification:
- Diploma / BE in Mechanical Engineering
Experience:
- 1–2 Years in Heavy Fabrication, Structural Fabrication, Trailer Manufacturing, Automotive Fabrication, or Engineering Manufacturing Industry.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
