Job Summary
The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to move raw materials, finished goods, packaging materials, and other inventory within the manufacturing facility and warehouse. The role ensures smooth material flow, accurate inventory handling, and adherence to safety standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesMaterial Handling
- Operate forklifts safely for loading, unloading, stacking, and transportation of materials.
- Move raw materials from stores to production areas as per production requirements.
- Transfer finished goods from production to warehouse or dispatch area.
- Ensure proper stacking and storage of materials to prevent damage.
- Handle pallets, packaging materials, and finished products efficiently.
Warehouse & Inventory Management
- Assist in inventory movement and stock arrangement.
- Verify material quantities during loading and unloading activities.
- Support periodic stock counts and inventory audits.
- Ensure proper identification and segregation of materials.
Equipment Maintenance
- Conduct daily pre-operational checks of forklift equipment.
- Report mechanical issues, damages, or safety concerns immediately.
- Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of the forklift.
- Ensure battery charging/fuel refilling is carried out safely.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all company safety policies and warehouse procedures.
- Use required PPE while operating equipment.
- Adhere to speed limits and designated traffic routes within the plant.
- Ensure safe loading practices to avoid accidents and product damage.
- Participate in safety training and toolbox talks.
Documentation
- Maintain records of material movement as required.
- Complete forklift inspection checklists.
- Coordinate with stores, production, and dispatch teams for smooth operations.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum: 10th / 12th Pass or ITI preferred.
- Valid Forklift Operator License/Certification preferred.
- Knowledge of warehouse and material handling operations.
Experience
- 1–5 years of experience as a Forklift Operator in Packaging, Manufacturing, FMCG, Logistics, or Warehouse operations.
- Experience in handling pallets, finished goods, and raw materials.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
