Job Summary: The Nursing Floor Incharge is responsible for supervising and coordinating all nursing activities on the assigned floor/ward. The role ensures quality patient care, efficient utilization of nursing staff, compliance with hospital policies, and maintenance of patient safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:Patient Care Management
- Ensure high-quality nursing care is provided to all patients.
- Monitor patient condition and ensure timely nursing interventions.
- Coordinate with doctors and other healthcare professionals regarding patient treatment plans.
- Ensure proper implementation of medical orders and nursing protocols.
- Handle patient and attendant concerns professionally.
Staff Supervision
- Supervise and guide nursing staff, ward attendants, and support staff on the assigned floor.
- Prepare and manage nursing duty rosters.
- Monitor staff attendance, punctuality, and performance.
- Conduct shift handovers and ensure continuity of patient care.
- Provide training and orientation to newly joined nursing staff.
Ward Administration
- Maintain adequate availability of medicines, consumables, and nursing supplies.
- Ensure proper maintenance and functioning of medical equipment.
- Monitor cleanliness, hygiene, and infection control practices within the ward.
- Ensure proper documentation of nursing records and reports.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with NABH standards, hospital policies, and nursing protocols.
- Monitor adherence to infection control guidelines and patient safety measures.
- Report incidents, accidents, and medication errors as per hospital policy.
- Participate in quality improvement activities and audits.
Coordination & Communication
- Coordinate with doctors, pharmacy, laboratory, housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments.
- Attend departmental meetings and communicate important updates to nursing staff.
- Facilitate smooth admission, transfer, and discharge of patients.
Emergency Management
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies.
- Ensure emergency equipment and crash carts are readily available and functional.
- Guide nursing staff during emergency situations and disaster management procedures.
Eligibility Criteria:
- B.Sc. Nursing / GNM from a recognized institution.
- Valid Nursing Registration Certificate.
- Minimum 3–5 years of clinical experience, preferably with supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of NABH standards and hospital protocols.
- Good leadership, communication, and team management skills.
