Position Details
Job Title: Production Assistant
Department: Production
Reporting To: Production Supervisor / Factory Manager
Location: Thergaon Factory, Pune
Job Purpose
The Production Assistant will support the day-to-day manufacturing and packaging operations of the factory by ensuring efficient production processes, proper machine operation, adherence to production schedules, and compliance with food safety and quality standards. The role requires close coordination with the Production, Quality, Warehouse, and Maintenance teams to ensure smooth factory operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Operations
- Assist in the daily operations of the production line.
- Support the preparation and processing of food products as per production plans.
- Ensure production targets are achieved while maintaining quality standards.
- Follow production schedules and report any delays or operational issues.
- Assist in changeovers between production batches.
Machine Operation
- Operate and monitor production and packaging machinery safely and efficiently.
- Perform routine machine checks before and during production.
- Report machine breakdowns or abnormalities to the Maintenance team immediately.
- Ensure machines are cleaned and maintained according to SOPs after production.
Packaging Operations
- Ensure proper packaging, sealing, labelling, and coding of finished products.
- Verify packaging materials before use.
- Ensure products are packed according to company specifications and quality standards.
- Minimize packaging wastage and report material shortages.
Quality & Food Safety
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), hygiene, and food safety standards.
- Coordinate with the Quality team to ensure products meet company specifications.
- Maintain cleanliness of production equipment and work areas.
- Ensure proper handling of raw materials and finished goods.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain production records and daily production logs.
- Record machine downtime, production output, and material usage.
- Follow all factory SOPs, safety procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Assist during internal and external quality audits.
Cross-functional Coordination
- Coordinate with Warehouse for timely availability of raw and packaging materials.
- Work closely with the Maintenance team for machine upkeep.
- Support the Quality team during inspections and product checks.
- Assist Production Supervisors in achieving daily production targets.
QualificationsEducation
- Degree or Diploma in Food Technology, Food Science, Food Processing, or a related discipline.
Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in a food manufacturing or food processing environment.
- Hands-on experience in production, packaging operations, and operating production machinery is preferred.
- Experience in Korean food, packaged food, FMCG, bakery, dairy, frozen food, or ready-to-eat food manufacturing will be an added advantage.

Pay: ₹8,408.54 - ₹46,438.74 per month
