A Montessori teacher need to guide childrens in a prepared environment designed to foster independence, curiosity, and a love of learning. Instead of traditional instruction, the teacher acts as a facilitator, observing and supporting each child’s natural development.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain a structured Montessori classroom environment with appropriate learning materials
- Observe each child’s progress and adapt activities to meet individual needs
- Guide students in practical life skills, sensory learning, language, math, and cultural subjects
- Encourage independence, self-discipline, and respect for others
- Demonstrate the correct use of Montessori materials and allow children to explore them freely
- Maintain records of student development and progress
- Communicate regularly with parents about their child’s growth
- Foster a calm, respectful, and inclusive classroom atmosphere
