Application Development
- Develop, maintain, and enhance hospital-based web applications using PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, and AJAX.
- Design and develop internal modules for hospital operations such as:
- Treatment scheduling
- Ticket management
- Online consultation
- Purchase and inventory tracking
- Patient service tracking
- Department task tracking
- Manpower and work analysis
- MIS and management dashboards
- Customize and improve existing applications based on department and management requirements.
- Create user-friendly forms, approval workflows, role-based login systems, and reporting modules.
- Test, debug, and resolve application errors in a timely manner.
- Ensure that applications are practical, stable, secure, and suitable for daily hospital operations.
- Maintain proper documentation of application design, changes, user guides, and technical updates.
2. PHP, MySQL, and JavaScript Development
- Write clean, structured, and maintainable PHP code. Have good knowledge in Java.
- Work with PHP frameworks such as CodeIgniter, Laravel, or similar frameworks.
- Design and maintain MySQL / MariaDB databases.
- Write SQL queries, joins, views, reports, and optimized data extraction queries.
- Create and manage database tables, relationships, indexes, and backups.
- Develop interactive front-end features using JavaScript, AJAX, HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap.
- Handle form validations, data submissions, dynamic dropdowns, and user interface improvements.
- Integrate applications with databases and ensure smooth data flow between modules.
- Maintain secure access control, user permissions, and data confidentiality.
3. Database Management
- Design, maintain, and optimize databases for hospital applications.
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity of data.
- Support data migration, data cleaning, and data validation activities.
- Generate data extracts for operational, administrative, and management requirements.
- Maintain database backup processes and support data recovery whenever required.
- Monitor database performance and troubleshoot database-related issues.
- Ensure sensitive hospital, patient, employee, and financial data is protected through proper access controls.
4. Data Analysis and Reporting
- Collect, clean, analyze, and interpret hospital operational data.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports for management review.
- Analyze data related to:
- Patient occupancy
- Admission and discharge trends
- Department workload
- Manpower utilization
- Treatment scheduling
- Billing and revenue
- Expenses and cost tracking
- Inventory and purchase usage
- Service turnaround time
- Department performance
- Identify gaps, delays, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities through data analysis.
- Present findings in a clear, simple, and actionable format.
- Support management in data-based decision-making.
5. Dashboard and MIS Development
- Create dashboards using Excel, Google Sheets, Power BI, Looker Studio, or similar tools.
- Develop automated reports to reduce manual work.
- Build department-wise MIS formats for daily, weekly, and monthly reviews.
- Create visual reports, charts, and summaries for management presentations.
- Maintain accuracy and timeliness of all dashboards and reports.
- Standardize reporting formats across departments.
6. Process Improvement and Automation
- Study current hospital workflows and identify areas for digital improvement.
- Convert manual registers, paper-based processes, and Excel-based trackers into structured applications wherever required.
- Support process standardization through digital forms, checklists, trackers, and automated reports.
- Assist in hospital projects related to:
- Manpower optimization
- Treatment costing
- Department productivity analysis
- Service quality tracking
- Purchase and inventory control
- Patient service improvement
- Work closely with department heads to understand practical operational problems and develop suitable technical solutions.
7. User Support and Training
- Provide day-to-day technical support to hospital staff using internal applications.
- Train users on newly developed applications, reports, and dashboards.
- Prepare simple user manuals, SOPs, and training materials.
- Collect user feedback and recommend improvements.
- Support staff in basic data entry, report generation, and application usage.
- Ensure smooth adoption of digital tools across departments.
8. Data Security and Confidentiality
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient, employee, financial, and hospital operational data.
- Follow hospital policies related to data protection, access control, and information security.
- Ensure applications have appropriate user roles and permissions.
- Avoid unauthorized sharing, copying, or misuse of hospital data.
- Maintain proper records, logs, and documentation for audit and review purposes.
- Support compliance with applicable data protection and healthcare information security requirements.
Required Technical Skills
- Strong hands-on experience in PHP application development.
- Good knowledge of CodeIgniter, Laravel, or similar PHP frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of MySQL / MariaDB.
- Ability to write SQL queries, joins, subqueries, views, stored procedures, and reports.
- Knowledge of database design, indexing, relationships, backup, and optimization.
- Good knowledge of JavaScript, AJAX, HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap.
- Experience in developing web forms, dashboards, reports, workflows, and login systems.
- Ability to debug application errors and database issues.
- Knowledge of data import/export using Excel, CSV, and database tools.
- Basic understanding of APIs and system integration.
- Good knowledge of Excel, Google Sheets, and MIS reporting.
- Knowledge of Power BI, Looker Studio, or other dashboard tools will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of Java will be an added advantage.
