Fireloop is building the critical infrastructure that bridges advanced robotics research with real-world production environments.
We are hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) who will work at the intersection of robotics software, deployment, and client integration. This role focuses on executing and integrating robotics systems in real-world environments rather than pure research and algorithm development.
The ideal candidate understands how robotics systems work, can debug them when they fail, and ensures reliable production performance.
Define, simulate, and train pre-go-live scenarios using Isaac SIM and Isaac Lab
Deploy robotics software stacks in client environments (cloud and edge)
Write, debug, and configure ROS/ROS2 nodes
Manage message passing, coordinate transforms (TF2), and launch configurations
Troubleshoot real-world system issues using logs and network analysis
Work closely with senior engineers to learn best practices in robotics infrastructure
Provide field feedback to improve product reliability
BS/MS in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or related field
Strong conceptual understanding of ROS / ROS2 (Nodes, Topics, Services, Actions)
Proficiency in Python (required)
Ability to read and debug C++
Strong Computer Science fundamentals (Data Structures & Algorithms)
Solid understanding of Linear Algebra and robotics math
Comfortable working in Linux (Ubuntu, SSH, shell scripting)
Familiarity with Git and basic Docker usage
Experience with robotics simulators (Gazebo, Isaac Sim, MuJoCo)
Exposure to AWS, Azure, or GCP
Experience working with sensor data (Lidar, Cameras, IMUs)
Exposure to real-world robotics deployment challenges
High-impact role with strong learning opportunities
Fully remote role within the United States
