Job Description – Store In-Charge
Educational Qualification
- Graduate in any discipline from a recognized university/institution.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in store management, inventory control, material management, or a similar role.
- Experience in a construction, infrastructure, engineering, railway, or project environment will be an added advantage.
Job Purpose
The Store In-Charge will be responsible for the efficient management and control of all materials, equipment, tools, consumables, and other inventory at the project/site store. The position requires maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring timely receipt and issue of materials, proper storage and preservation, and effective coordination with procurement, site, and project teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations of the project/site store and ensure systematic storage of all materials.
- Receive, inspect, verify, and record incoming materials against purchase orders, delivery challans, and other relevant documents.
- Issue materials to authorized personnel/departments against approved material requisitions.
- Maintain accurate stock registers, inventory records, Goods Receipt Notes (GRNs), Material Issue Notes (MINs), and related documentation.
- Monitor stock levels and ensure timely identification of minimum/maximum stock requirements.
- Conduct regular physical verification of materials and reconcile physical stock with records.
- Ensure proper identification, labeling, stacking, preservation, and safe storage of materials.
- Maintain records of damaged, surplus, obsolete, and slow-moving materials and report the same to management.
- Coordinate with procurement, accounts, site, and engineering teams regarding material requirements, deliveries, and shortages.
- Ensure proper documentation and traceability of all material movements.
- Monitor the condition of tools, equipment, and other assets issued from the store.
- Prepare periodic stock statements, consumption reports, and inventory summaries for management.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, safety requirements, and project-specific store management practices.
- Maintain cleanliness, housekeeping, and safe working conditions within the store premises.
- Support internal and external audits by providing required inventory records and documentation.
- Perform other store-related duties assigned by the Project Manager or competent authority.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per hour
