Job Description: Senior QA Engineer

Job Summary
We are seeking a QA Engineer with 5 to 8 years of experience for a hybrid role in Chennai. This position focuses heavily on core manual testing (80%) to ensure high-quality product delivery, with a light automation component (20%) to support regression suites. Experience in Healthcare or Retail domains is a strong advantage.
Key Responsibilities Manual Testing (80% Focus)
- Analyze software requirements to identify testing scenarios and gaps.
- Write clear, comprehensive, and detailed manual test cases.
- Execute functional, regression, UI, and integration test suites.
- Log defects with clear steps, logs, and screenshots in Jira.
- Validate complex domain workflows for Retail or Healthcare systems.
Automation Testing (20% Focus)
- Run existing automated regression scripts during release cycles.
- Analyze automation test failures to distinguish bugs from script issues.
- Update broken test scripts when UI elements or workflows change.
- Add new basic test scripts for stable features over time.
Required Skills and Qualifications Manual & Process Skills
- 5 to 8 years of solid software testing experience.
- Expertise in Agile methodologies, sprint cycles, and test planning.
- Proficiency with Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar test tools.
- Strong ability to perform exploratory and unstructured testing.
Technical & Automation Stack
- Basic programming proficiency in either Python or Java.
- Hands-on experience executing scripts via Selenium or Playwright.
- Familiarity with API testing using Postman or Swagger.
- Ability to write basic SQL queries for data verification.
Preferred Pluses
- Healthcare: Knowledge of EMR/EHR, HL7, or claims processing.
- Retail: Experience with e-commerce, POS, or inventory management.
