Job description:
An experienced HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) Officer develops, implements, and maintains safety policies and procedures to protect employees and the environment, conducts risk assessments, investigates incidents, provides training, and ensures compliance with regulations and industry best practices to foster a safe work environment. Key responsibilities include identifying hazards, performing safety audits, managing safety budgets, and communicating safety information to management and all levels of staff. Key Responsibilities
- Policy & Procedure Development:Creating and updating health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures to meet legal and industry standards.
- Risk Assessment & Management:Identifying workplace hazards, evaluating associated risks, and recommending corrective actions to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Inspections & Audits:Conducting regular safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety protocols and identify potential issues.
- Incident Investigation:Investigating workplace accidents and near misses to determine root causes and implement measures to prevent recurrence.
- Training & Awareness:Providing safety induction for new employees, conducting regular safety drills, and organizing campaigns to promote a strong safety culture.
- Compliance:Monitoring adherence to health and safety laws and regulations, such as OSHA and ISO standards.
- Environmental Protection:Overseeing and promoting environmentally responsible practices, including waste management and sustainability initiatives.
- Record Keeping:Maintaining accurate documentation of safety inspections, training, incidents, and compliance efforts.
- Collaboration & Communication:Working with management and employees at all levels to address safety concerns, provide guidance, and foster cooperation on safety matters.
- Emergency Preparedness:Organizing and conducting emergency drills (e.g., fire, evacuation) to ensure employees are prepared for unforeseen events.
