Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver tailoring and sewing lessons based on the curriculum.
- Teach hand stitching, machine stitching, pattern drafting, cutting, garment construction, alterations, and finishing techniques.
- Demonstrate the safe and proper use of sewing machines and tailoring equipment.
- Assess students' practical skills and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain attendance, progress reports, and assessment records.
- Prepare lesson plans and practical assignments.
- Ensure the tailoring lab/workshop is clean, organized, and safe.
- Maintain sewing machines, tools, fabrics, and other training materials.
- Guide students on garment measurements, fabric selection, and quality standards.
- Encourage creativity, professionalism, and entrepreneurship in tailoring.
- Participate in school/college events, exhibitions, and skill competitions.
- Follow institutional policies and maintain discipline in the classroom.
Qualifications
- Diploma/Certificate or Degree in Tailoring, Fashion Design, Garment Technology, or a related field.
- Certification in tailoring or vocational training is preferred.
- Prior teaching or industry experience is an advantage.
Required Skills
- Excellent tailoring and garment construction skills.
- Knowledge of sewing machines and tailoring equipment.
- Strong communication and teaching abilities.
- Patience and the ability to mentor students with different skill levels.
- Good organizational and classroom management skills.
- Basic computer knowledge for maintaining records and preparing lesson plans.
Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
