Job Summary
A Pharmacy Dispenser supports the pharmacist in preparing and dispensing medications accurately and safely. They handle prescriptions, manage stock, assist customers, and ensure the pharmacy operates efficiently while maintaining high standards of customer service and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities1. Prescription Processing
- Receive and interpret prescriptions.
- Prepare and label medications accurately.
- Measure, count, and package medications.
- Ensure correct dosage and instructions are provided.
- Refer complex queries to the pharmacist.
2. Customer Service
- Assist customers with over-the-counter (OTC) products.
- Provide basic advice on medication usage (as permitted).
- Handle customer inquiries professionally and confidentially.
- Process payments and manage billing.
3. Stock Management
- Monitor inventory levels.
- Order and receive pharmaceutical supplies.
- Check expiry dates and remove expired stock.
- Maintain proper storage conditions for medications.
4. Administrative Duties
- Maintain accurate patient records.
- Handle insurance claims and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy laws and regulations.
- Keep the pharmacy clean and organized.
Required Skills & QualificationsEducation
- High school diploma or equivalent (minimum requirement).
- Pharmacy dispensing certificate or relevant training (preferred).
- Registration with relevant pharmacy regulatory body (if required by country).
Skills
- Strong attention to detail.

- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of pharmacy software systems.

Working Conditions
