We are looking for a proactive and technically sound Maintenance Engineer to support our engineering operations and ensure reliable plant performance.
Position Overview
The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for executing preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of production equipment and utility systems. The role also includes supporting new equipment installation, engineering projects, vendor coordination, and ensuring maximum equipment uptime while maintaining GMP and safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities for production equipment and utilities.
- Maintain and troubleshoot Glass-Lined Reactors (GLR), Stainless Steel Reactors (SS), Receivers, Agitated Nutsche Filter Dryers (ANFD), Centrifuges, Vacuum Tray Dryers (VTD), Rotary Vacuum Dryers (RVD), Blenders, Pulverizers, Milling Equipment, Pumps, Heat Exchangers, Storage Tanks, Vacuum Systems, and material handling equipment.
- Operate and maintain utility systems including Boilers, Chillers, Cooling Towers, Air Compressors, HVAC, Electrical Panels, DG Sets, Water Treatment Systems, RO Plant, ETP/STP, Solvent Recovery Systems, and Fire Fighting Systems.
- Prepare and implement preventive maintenance schedules and maintain maintenance records.
- Diagnose equipment failures, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Support installation, commissioning, and qualification of new equipment and engineering projects.
- Coordinate with Production, QA, QC, Warehouse, and Purchase departments for maintenance planning and execution.
- Monitor critical spare parts inventory and raise purchase requisitions when required.
- Supervise external contractors during maintenance and project activities.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, SOPs, engineering documentation, and safety procedures.
- Participate in plant shutdown planning and maintenance activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and optimize maintenance costs.
Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or Chemical Engineering.
- 5–7 years of relevant experience in Pharmaceutical, API, Chemical, or Nutraceutical manufacturing.
- Hands-on experience in maintenance of process equipment and utility systems.
- Knowledge of GMP requirements and engineering documentation.
- Experience in equipment installation and commissioning will be an added advantage.
