About the Role
We are looking for a Junior Chef - Commis I/Commis II, to support daily kitchen operations at our Café at Lavelle Road, Bengaluru. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about plant-based cooking, eager to learn, and committed to maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and consistency.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in food preparation and cooking as per recipes and kitchen standards
- Support senior chefs in daily kitchen operations
- Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portioning
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety standards at all times
- Assist with prep work, inventory handling, and proper storage of ingredients
- Follow SOPs related to food preparation, hygiene, and kitchen safety
- Support catering, events, and special menus as required
- Minimize food wastage and assist in cost control

- Willingness to learn and follow instructions from senior kitchen staff
- Strict adherence to hygiene, food safety, and cleanliness standards
- Punctuality and reliability in reporting to assigned shifts
- Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Physical ability to stand for long hours and perform basic kitchen tasks
- Openness to feedback and readiness to improve skills
- Respect for kitchen SOPs, processes, and workplace discipline
