Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and responsible Project Engineer – Civil with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in civil construction and project execution. The candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day site activities, coordinating with contractors and consultants, monitoring project progress, ensuring quality and safety standards, and completing projects within the approved timeline and budget.
The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge, site management skills, coordination abilities, and the capability to independently handle project execution activities.
Key Responsibilities1. Project Execution
- Manage and supervise day-to-day civil construction activities at the project site.
- Ensure construction work is carried out as per approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Coordinate and monitor all stages of project execution from start to completion.
- Ensure work is completed according to the approved project schedule and milestones.
- Identify site-level issues and coordinate with the concerned teams for timely resolution.
2. Site Supervision & Coordination
- Supervise contractors, subcontractors, site engineers, supervisors, and workmen.
- Coordinate with architects, structural consultants, MEP teams, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor work progress and quality.
- Ensure proper coordination between different teams to avoid delays and rework.
3. Quality Control
- Ensure construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Monitor the quality of materials and workmanship used at the project site.
- Identify and report quality issues and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Coordinate inspections and testing of construction materials wherever required.
4. Project Planning & Progress Monitoring
- Prepare and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly project progress reports.
- Track project milestones and identify potential delays in advance.
- Monitor manpower, materials, equipment, and resources required for project execution.
- Coordinate with management to ensure timely availability of resources.
5. Drawing & Technical Coordination
- Review architectural, structural, and service drawings before and during execution.
- Identify discrepancies or clashes between drawings and actual site conditions.
- Coordinate with consultants and management for necessary clarifications and revisions.
- Ensure the latest approved drawings are being followed at the site.
6. Cost & Material Management
- Monitor material consumption and minimize unnecessary wastage.
- Coordinate material requirements with procurement and stores teams.
- Verify quantities and assist in checking contractor bills and work measurements.
- Support cost control initiatives and ensure work is executed within the approved budget.
7. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with project safety procedures and construction safety standards.
- Coordinate with safety personnel to identify and address site hazards.
- Ensure workers follow appropriate safety practices and use required PPE.
- Report accidents, incidents, and safety concerns to the concerned management.
8. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain proper records of project progress, site activities, inspections, and work measurements.
- Prepare daily site reports and periodic project status reports.
- Maintain records of drawings, approvals, material inspections, and site instructions.
- Provide regular updates to the Project Manager / Project Head and management.
9. Team & Contractor Management
- Coordinate and manage contractors and subcontractors effectively.
- Monitor contractor performance, productivity, and adherence to project timelines.
- Resolve day-to-day site coordination issues and escalate major concerns when required.
- Ensure effective communication among all project stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- B.Tech / B.E. / Diploma in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in civil construction/project execution.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and site execution.
- Experience in handling residential, commercial, or real estate construction projects is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
- Good knowledge of project planning, scheduling, and site coordination.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Excel is preferred.
- Knowledge of project management software or construction management tools will be an advantage.
