Position: Mother Teacher – Grade 2

Job Summary
The Grade 2 Mother Teacher is responsible for the holistic academic, social, emotional, and behavioural development of students. The teacher creates a safe, engaging, and child-centred learning environment while teaching core subjects and ensuring every child achieves age-appropriate learning outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Academic Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging lessons in English, Mathematics, EVS, and other assigned subjects.
Implement the school's curriculum using activity-based and experiential learning strategies.
Foster literacy, numeracy, communication, and critical thinking skills.
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
Integrate technology and teaching aids to enhance classroom learning.
Classroom Management
Maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment.
Establish classroom routines and encourage discipline through positive reinforcement.
Organize classroom displays, learning corners, and student work exhibits.
Ensure cleanliness, safety, and proper maintenance of classroom resources.
Student Development
Monitor each student's academic, emotional, social, and behavioural progress.
Encourage confidence, creativity, collaboration, and independent learning.
Identify students requiring additional academic or emotional support and provide appropriate interventions.
Assessment & Documentation
Conduct formative and summative assessments as per school guidelines.
Maintain student portfolios, assessment records, attendance, and academic documentation.
Prepare report cards and provide constructive feedback to students and parents.
Parent Communication
Build strong relationships with parents through regular communication.
Conduct Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) and discuss student progress and development.
Address parent concerns professionally and collaboratively.
School Responsibilities
Participate in assemblies, celebrations, competitions, field trips, and school events.
Attend staff meetings, professional development programmes, and training sessions.
Collaborate with colleagues to plan interdisciplinary activities and school initiatives.
Follow all school policies, child protection guidelines, and safety procedures.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in any discipline.
B.Ed. (Mandatory).
Minimum 2–3 years of teaching experience in Primary Grades (preferably Grade 2).
Excellent communication skills in English.
Strong classroom management and interpersonal skills.
