Job Purpose
We are looking for a responsible and energetic Soft Seating Supervisor to manage our custom sofa, bed, and other soft-seating works from production coordination through site installation and final completion.
The candidate will be responsible for supervising the sofa and upholstery team, explaining work requirements clearly, coordinating with production and design teams, planning site visits, communicating with clients, following up on project requirements, and ensuring that all work is completed on time and according to quality standards.
The ideal candidate should have practical knowledge of custom sofa, bed, upholstery, and soft-seating work and should be comfortable coordinating with workers, clients, vendors, and internal teams.
JOB ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Sofa & Soft Seating Team Supervision
- Supervise the sofa, upholstery, and soft-seating team on a daily basis.
- Allocate work to team members according to project requirements and priorities.
- Explain drawings, measurements, designs, specifications, and work requirements to the team.
- Monitor the progress of sofa and bed production.
- Ensure workers understand the required size, shape, design, fabric, foam, stitching, and finishing details.
- Check the quality of workmanship at different stages of production.
- Identify mistakes or quality issues and coordinate with the concerned team for corrections.
- Ensure work is completed according to the approved design and specifications.
- Maintain discipline, productivity, and proper coordination within the team.
2. Project Planning & Work Coordination
- Review project requirements before starting production or installation.
- Prepare work plans and coordinate with the concerned departments.
- Plan production and installation activities according to project deadlines.
- Follow up on pending work and ensure timely completion.
- Coordinate with designers, production teams, purchase teams, project managers, and site teams.
- Ensure all required materials, fabrics, foam, accessories, hardware, and other items are available before starting the work.
- Identify potential delays and immediately report them to management.
3. Site Visit & Installation Management
- Plan and schedule site visits according to project requirements.
- Visit client/project sites to take measurements and understand site conditions.
- Coordinate with the client or site representative before visiting the site.
- Check dimensions, access, installation conditions, and other site requirements.
- Explain site requirements to the production and installation teams.
- Coordinate sofa, bed, headboard, cushions, panels, and other soft-seating installations.
- Supervise the installation team at the site.
- Ensure proper installation, alignment, finishing, and cleanliness.
- Take photographs and provide site updates to management.
- Report any site-related issues immediately and coordinate for solutions.
4. Client Coordination & Follow-Up
- Communicate professionally with clients regarding project requirements.
- Understand client requirements and communicate them clearly to the internal team.
- Follow up with clients regarding measurements, approvals, fabric selections, designs, site readiness, and installation schedules.
- Provide regular project updates to clients and management.
- Handle client questions and coordinate with the concerned department for solutions.
- Maintain good relationships with clients throughout the project.
- Follow up after installation to ensure client satisfaction.
- Coordinate and close any pending snag or rectification work.
5. Measurements & Technical Understanding
- Take accurate measurements at project sites.
- Understand basic furniture drawings and dimensions.
- Verify measurements before production.
- Cross-check production sizes with approved drawings and site measurements.
- Identify discrepancies between drawings and actual site conditions.
- Coordinate with designers/technical teams whenever clarification is required.
- Ensure the final product matches the approved design.
6. Quality Control
- Inspect sofa and bed frames before upholstery.
- Check foam, fabric, stitching, piping, seams, cushions, and finishing.
- Ensure proper shape, dimensions, comfort, and appearance.
- Check the final product before dispatch or installation.
- Ensure there are no visible defects, stains, loose stitching, uneven finishing, or dimensional issues.
- Coordinate rectification of defective or incomplete work.
- Ensure the completed work meets company quality standards.
7. Daily Reporting & Updates
- Provide daily updates regarding production and site activities.
- Maintain project-wise status updates.
- Report completed, pending, and delayed works.
- Maintain site visit reports and measurement details.
- Share photographs/videos of work progress whenever required.
- Update management regarding manpower, material requirements, project delays, and client requirements.
- Maintain proper records of project activities.
8. Manpower Management
- Plan manpower requirements according to project workload.
- Allocate daily duties to workers.
- Monitor attendance and productivity.
- Ensure sufficient manpower is available for production and installation.
- Coordinate replacement manpower when required.
- Guide junior workers and new employees.
- Maintain discipline and teamwork.
9. Material & Tool Coordination
- Check the availability of required materials before starting work.
- Coordinate with the purchase/store team for fabric, foam, wood, accessories, hardware, stitching materials, etc.
- Monitor material usage and minimize wastage.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of fabrics and other materials.
- Check tools and equipment required for site installation.
- Inform management about material shortages in advance.
10. Final Handover
- Inspect the completed sofa, bed, or soft-seating project before client handover.
- Prepare a final snag list where required.
- Coordinate rectification of pending issues.
- Ensure the site is clean after installation.
- Obtain client confirmation/feedback after completion.
- Close the project only after all major requirements are completed.
- Maintain records of final handover and pending items.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Required Experience
- 1–2 years of experience in custom furniture, sofa manufacturing, upholstery, soft seating, interior fit-out, furniture installation, or a related field.
- Practical knowledge of sofa and bed manufacturing/installation will be preferred.
- Experience in handling a small production or installation team is preferred.
Educational Qualification
- Intermediate or graduation.
- Relevant practical experience will also be considered.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Soft Seating Supervisor will act as the key link between the client, design/technical team, production team, and site installation team.
The person should take complete ownership of the assigned sofa, bed, and soft-seating projects, starting from understanding the requirement and measurements, through production coordination and quality checking, up to site installation, client follow-up, rectification, and final handover.
In simple terms: Plan → Explain → Coordinate → Supervise → Visit Site → Update Client → Check Quality → Complete → Handover.
