Specialized certifications: Certificates or diplomas in specific areas like sports and amenity maintenance, practical horticulture, or landscape and sports turf are often required, especially for professional sports grounds.
Physical fitness: The ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work outdoors in various weather conditions is essential.
Technical skills: Proficiency with a range of tools and equipment, such as mowers, chainsaws, and trimmers, is necessary.
Soft skills: Good communication, teamwork, and attention to detail are crucial.
Sports grounds management, including pitch preparation, goal setting, and line marking.
Marking of each court of various sports like volleyball, football, cricket ,Kho-Kho, Kabaddi etc.
Cleaning and washing of sports court every week or as required.
Equipment Operation: They operate and maintain various grounds keeping equipment, such as mowers, irrigation systems, etc.
Maintenance of Sports Ground: Groundsmen are tasked with mowing lawns, trimming hedges, planting flowers, and maintaining the overall appearance of Sports Ground and landscapes.
Responsibilities include watering plants, fertilizing lawns, removing trash.
All necessary arrangements for each sport with the help of Administration Department.
