Role Objective
We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Production Manager to independently manage our CNC punching, CNC bending Laser cutting Machine and MS sheet-metal fabrication operations.
The candidate will be responsible for production planning, machine utilisation, manpower and contractor management and ensuring that all customer orders are manufactured and delivered on schedule. The position requires strong shop-floor leadership along with knowledge of sheet-metal fabrication processes.
Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Planning and Delivery Management
· Prepare daily and weekly production plans based on customer orders, delivery commitments, available capacity and material availability.
· Establish job priorities and allocate work across CNC punching, bending, welding, fabrication and assembly operations.
· Maintain clear visibility of pending orders, work-in-progress and expected completion dates.
· Take ownership of on-time production and readiness of material for dispatch.
CNC Punching and Bending Operations
· Supervise CNC punching and CNC press-brake bending operations.
· Candidates with hands-on experience operating or managing AMADA CNC punching and bending machines will be preferred.Verify punching and bending programs before production to minimise errors, rejection and material wastage.
· Ensure correct selection and maintenance of punches, dies and other machine tooling.
· Improve machine utilisation by reducing programming delays, setting time, tool-change time and idle time.
Sheet-Metal Fabrication Management
· Manage complete shop-floor activities involving:
o CNC turret punching
o CNC press-brake bending
o MS sheet-metal fabrication
o Surface preparation and coordination for painting or powder coating
· Ensure correct production sequence from raw-material issue through fabrication, inspection and dispatch.
· Monitor dimensional accuracy, fabrication quality, weld quality and overall workmanship.
· Ensure proper identification and traceability of customer jobs and work-in-progress material.
· Reduce rejection, rework, excess scrap and avoidable material consumption.
· Continuously improve nesting and sheet utilisation to minimise scrap.
Shop-Floor and Manpower Management
· Take complete responsibility for the day-to-day management of the production floor.
· Allocate manpower, machines and production contractors according to workload and delivery priorities.
· Manage machine operators, supervisors, welders, fabricators, helpers and outsourced production contractors.
· Set daily production targets and review actual output at the end of every shift.
· Monitor attendance, productivity, overtime and discipline of production personnel.
· Maintain a disciplined, safe, organised and productive shop-floor environment.
Maintenance and Machine Utilisation
· Coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance of CNC punching, bending, welding and fabrication equipment.
· Ensure preventive-maintenance schedules are followed without adversely affecting customer deliveries.
· Monitor machine condition, tooling condition and availability of essential consumables and spares.
Dispatch and Interdepartmental Coordination
· Coordinate with Dispatch to ensure completed orders are properly inspected, identified, packed and dispatched on time.
· Attend production and delivery review meetings and present factual order-wise status.
· Coordinate with Design/Engineering to resolve drawing, development and manufacturing-feasibility issues.
· Coordinate with Stores and Purchase for timely availability of sheets, bought-out components, welding consumables and production materials.
· Manage subcontracted operations such as powder coating, painting, plating or special fabrication, wherever applicable.
Preferred Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should be a mature, disciplined and technically strong production professional who is comfortable spending substantial time on the shop floor. The candidate must be capable of independently controlling the complete production cycle—from planning and CNC programming through fabrication, inspection and final readiness for dispatch.
