Job Overview:
The Deputy General Manager – Procurement will play a strategic leadership role in driving procurement excellence across multiple projects. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring cost-effective, timely, and quality-driven sourcing of materials, services, and subcontracting packages, aligned with our commitment to operational excellence and project delivery.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Strategic Procurement & Planning
- Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with project timelines and business objectives
- Collaborate with project, engineering, and planning teams for accurate demand forecasting
- Drive value engineering and cost optimization initiatives across projects
Vendor Ecosystem Development
- Build a robust, reliable, and scalable vendor base across civil, MEP, and finishing segments
- Lead vendor identification, evaluation, onboarding, and performance management
- Strengthen long-term partnerships with key suppliers and contractors
- Develop alternate sourcing strategies to mitigate supply chain risks
Tendering, Negotiation & Contracting
- Lead end-to-end tendering processes including RFQs/RFPs, techno-commercial evaluations, and negotiations
- Finalize contracts, rate agreements, and purchase orders with a strong focus on commercial advantage
- Ensure risk mitigation through well-structured contractual terms and conditions
Project Procurement Execution
- Ensure seamless and timely procurement for multiple ongoing projects
- Align procurement schedules with project milestones and site requirements
- Work closely with site and execution teams to address critical and urgent procurement needs
Cost Management & Market Intelligence
- Monitor procurement budgets and ensure adherence to cost targets
- Track market trends, price fluctuations, and supply dynamics
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities without compromising on quality or timelines
Governance, Compliance & Systems
- Ensure adherence to procurement policies, processes, and ethical standards
- Maintain robust documentation, audit trails, and reporting mechanisms
- Drive process improvements and digitization through ERP systems (SAP/Oracle or equivalent)
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team
- Set clear KPIs, monitor performance, and build a high-performance culture
- Foster collaboration across departments for seamless project execution
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: B.E./B. Tech in Civil Engineering (MBA / PGDM in Supply Chain / Operations (preferred))
- Experience: 12-18 years of relevant experience in procurement
- Sector Exposure: Residential, Commercial, Institutional, or Infrastructure Projects
- Proven track record of handling large-scale, multi-project procurement
Technical & Soft Skills:
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation expertise
- Deep understanding of construction procurement and contracting
- Vendor management and relationship-building skills
- Analytical mindset with focus on cost optimization
- Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement tools
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management abilities
Pay: ₹1,500,000.00 - ₹2,500,000.00 per year
