Role Summary
- The Fabrication Structural Engineer will be responsible for preparing heavy structural steel 2D & 3D drawings, BOQ preparation, project estimation, structural feasibility review, and technical guidance for fabrication and erection activities. The role includes coordination with production, project, and site teams to ensure structurally safe, practical, and cost-effective execution of projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare heavy structural steel 2D & 3D drawings for fabrication and erection.
- Develop GA drawings, fabrication drawings, connection details, and assembly drawings.
- Prepare BOQ (Bill of Quantity), material estimation, and project quantity calculations.
- Review structural designs and verify feasibility for fabrication and site execution.
- Provide structural approval for technically feasible designs or recommend required modifications.
- Suggest practical and cost-effective structural changes in existing designs when required.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, project managers, and fabrication teams for technical clarifications.
- Conduct site visits for structural inspection, measurement verification, and feasibility assessment.
- Support erection teams with structural guidance and technical solutions during installation.
- Ensure drawings and designs comply with applicable IS codes, standards, and project specifications.
- Prepare and maintain drawing revisions, technical records, and documentation.
- Assist in resolving fabrication and site-level structural issues.
- Optimize material utilization and fabrication methods for efficient project execution.
- Support estimation and planning teams during tendering and project execution stages.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 4–8 years of experience in structural steel fabrication and industrial project engineering.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of heavy structural steel design and fabrication processes.
- Experience in preparing fabrication and structural drawings.
- Knowledge of BOQ preparation and project estimation.
- Understanding of load calculations, connection detailing, and structural feasibility.
- Ability to review and modify designs based on site and fabrication requirements.
- Software Knowledge: AutoCAD, Tekla Structures (Preferred), SolidWorks / STAAD Pro(Preferred), MS Excel.
Travel Requirement
- Regular site visits for measurement, inspection, structural feasibility checks, and coordination
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
