Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Engineer to oversee the maintenance and reliability of plastic injection moulding machines and supporting utilities. The ideal candidate will ensure maximum machine uptime through preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance while maintaining safety, quality, and production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of plastic injection moulding machines.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Diagnose machine faults and restore production with minimum downtime.
- Maintain auxiliary equipment such as chillers, air compressors, cooling towers, material loaders, dryers, mixers, temperature controllers, and DG sets.
- Coordinate with production, tool room, and quality teams to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing.
- Prepare and execute preventive maintenance schedules.
- Maintain machine history cards, maintenance logs, and spare parts records.
- Monitor machine performance and recommend improvements to enhance reliability and productivity.
- Ensure proper lubrication and periodic inspection of machines and utilities.
- Plan and control critical spare parts inventory.
- Coordinate with external service engineers and machine suppliers when required.
- Support machine installation, commissioning, and relocation activities.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, 5S, and preventive maintenance practices.
- Train operators on basic machine care and autonomous maintenance practices.
- Participate in continuous improvement, cost reduction, and energy-saving initiatives.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of plastic injection moulding machines.
- Good understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read electrical and hydraulic circuit diagrams.
- Experience in PLC-based machine troubleshooting is preferred.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance planning.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Teamwork and communication skills.
- Computer knowledge for maintenance documentation.
Qualifications
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Production, Polymer Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
- 2–8 years of experience in maintenance of plastic injection moulding machines.
- Experience with machines such as Haitian, Toshiba, JSW, Engel, Fanuc, Sumitomo, Yizumi, or similar is preferred.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Hands-on approach to troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Able to work in shifts when required.
- Strong commitment to safety, machine reliability, and continuous improvement.
- Experience in TPM, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, or 5S will be an added advantage.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
