Job Summary
The Assistant Manager – Accounts is responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting operations of the hospital, ensuring accurate financial reporting, statutory compliance, doctor payout processing, revenue reconciliation, and internal financial controls. The role requires strong expertise in hospital accounting, consultant doctor remuneration, GST, TDS, MIS reporting, audits, and ERP-based financial systems.
Key ResponsibilitiesDoctor Payout Management
- Process monthly consultant doctor payouts as per agreements and approved payout models.
- Calculate fixed, revenue-sharing, incentive-based, and procedure-wise payouts.
- Verify OP/IP revenue, surgery revenue, diagnostics, and package collections before payout.
- Reconcile consultant revenue with Hospital Information System (HIS) and ERP.
- Ensure accurate deduction of TDS and other statutory deductions.
- Resolve payout discrepancies in coordination with Medical Administration, Billing, and Consultants.
- Maintain consultant agreements and payout records.
- Generate monthly doctor payout statements and MIS reports.
Accounting & Finance
- Manage General Ledger (GL), journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Review Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
- Monitor bank reconciliations and cash flow.
- Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Prepare financial statements and schedules.
- Monitor revenue leakage and implement financial controls.
Revenue & Billing
- Reconcile hospital billing with collections.
- Verify package billing, discounts, refunds, and credit notes.
- Coordinate with billing and operations to resolve revenue mismatches.
- Monitor outstanding receivables.
Statutory Compliance
- Ensure timely filing of GST, TDS, Professional Tax, and other statutory compliances.
- Coordinate with auditors during Internal, Statutory, GST, and Tax Audits.
- Ensure compliance with Income Tax provisions applicable to consultant payments.
MIS & Reporting
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports.
- Analyze revenue trends, consultant productivity, payout variance, and departmental profitability.
- Present financial reports to management.
- Support Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and budgeting activities.
Internal Controls
- Implement SOPs for financial processes.
- Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and audit requirements.
- Monitor expense controls and budget utilization.
- Identify process improvement opportunities.
Team Coordination
- Coordinate with Billing, Medical Administration, HR, Operations, Purchase, and Consultants.
- Guide junior accounts executives.
- Support automation and ERP implementation initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce (B.Com)
- MBA (Finance), M.Com, CA Inter, CMA Inter, or equivalent qualification preferred.
Experience
- 5–8 years of experience in Hospital Finance & Accounts.
- Minimum 3 years of experience handling Consultant Doctor Payouts.
- Experience in NABH-accredited hospitals preferred.
- Experience with multi-specialty hospitals is an advantage.
