We are seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Programmer to develop and optimize CNC programs for sheet metal manufacturing operations. The candidate will be responsible for creating laser cutting and bending programs, ensuring optimum material utilization, and supporting production activities through accurate machine programming and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare CNC programs for sheet metal fabrication processes.
- Develop and optimize nesting layouts for maximum material utilization.
- Create and modify programs for Amada Laser Cutting Machines.
- Prepare and optimize Bending Programs for CNC press brake machines.
- Interpret engineering drawings, CAD files, and production requirements.
- Coordinate with production and quality teams to ensure smooth manufacturing operations.
- Troubleshoot programming-related issues and provide technical support on the shop floor.
- Maintain programming records, revisions, and documentation.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and production timelines.
- Continuously improve cycle time, productivity, and material efficiency.
Technical Skills Required
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Working knowledge of SolidWorks.
- Experience with sheet metal programming software such as:
- RADAN
- CypCut
- ABE Planner
- Knowledge of CNC Laser Cutting and Press Brake Programming.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and fabrication layouts.
- Understanding of sheet metal manufacturing processes.
Essential Skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Technical understanding of laser cutting and bending machine operations.
- Basic computer proficiency (MS Office, Email, ERP systems preferred).
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Qualification & Experience Education
- Diploma / ITI / BE Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- CNC Programming Certification preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 2 to 4 years of experience as a Sheet Metal Programmer.
- Hands-on experience in laser cutting and bending machine programming.
