Position Title: FLE - Civil (GCA Central Projects)

Job Purpose:
To supervise the civil & and structural work to conceptualize, forecast, plan, control, and counteractive action by establishing standard work practices and procedures and ensuring coordinated effort of the consultants, contractors, and entire workforce, for quality execution of assigned project/s.
Apart from the above, effective discharge of responsibilities towards the overall development of the self, performance management, corrective action, implementation of management decisions and directives, strengthening of best practices, and safety.

Planning, budgeting & and statutory approvals.

Preparing the project baseline schedule including the objectives scope, and project execution plan.

execution of Project Execution work of various contractors

Project engineering, and construction

Execution of project in line with required specifications based on GIL Experience.

Iinitiating Purchase requisition of all construction works, structural works, and all others.

Preparing the project execution plan including the pre-project activities.

Civil & Structural Engineering
-
Review of GA & detailed fabrication drawings
-
Preparing material and bid specifications, technical evaluation and recommendations including purchase requisition

Preparing & releasing MTO for the civil & structural material.

Ensure quality inspection at Vendor’s works
-
Preparing detailed scope and stages of inspection for all relevant items/services.
Construction Management / Supervision
-
Prepared detailed construction plans and schedules of Contractors to match the Overall Schedule.

To ensure that plant construction by contractors complies with construction requirements.

Field Planning, Scheduling & monitoring of progress keeping in view the overall schedule of 1 the project.

Ensure the implementation of Safety procedures at SITE, which shall include the following:

Maintenance of safety procedures during the execution of services
-
Declaration and certification of work Completion.
Cost Control: Forecast & present rehabilitation expenditure for the assigned area in consultation with Section Head so as to control the cost of maintenance

In consultation with the Section Head, control OT expenses through proper allocation of manpower and rigorous follow up of the jobs

Recommend and ensure utilization of old but usable materials like wood, steel, pipes etc. to reduce cost

Continuously supervise site jobs to check wastages
Reports and Documentation: Timely update all documents of the section

Timely preparation all relevant reports, MIS and update all systems
-
Ensure update of documents as per ISO and related
-
Assist in getting timely audits done in the section
System Management (Safety, Sustainability & WCM): Adhere to statutory compliance related to Safety, Health and Environment & Sustainability and systems like IMS, WCM and ISO

Adhere to quality systems in the section for improving performance as per quality and environmental standards

Implement IMS 9001, 14001, 50001, SA 8000, OHSAS 18001 & WCM practices & other systems in the Section

Implement periodic sustainability audits action plans as directed by Sustainability Cell and other audits
-
Handle emergency situations like Liquid Chlorine leakages etc. under Disaster Management activities

Timely update documents related to ISO 9001 & ISO14001 for the department
-
Participate in Kaizen, Suggestion Scheme, etc. and ensure implementation of audit findings

People Development:
Maintain a congenial work culture by effective communication with workmen both permanent & contractual

Maintain proper communication with workers and contract labour, their shift activities and resource requirements

As and when required effectively communicate the management objectives and action plans for implementation
