About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Liferay Developer to join our IT team. As a Liferay Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining Liferay-based applications and portals. This role requires a strong understanding of Java development, Liferay architecture, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop Liferay-based applications, portals, and customizations to meet business requirements
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, understand project scope, and propose technical solutions.
- Customize and extend Liferay's core functionalities using Java, JavaScript, JSP, and other relevant technologies.
- Implement and integrate Liferay with third-party systems and services (e.g., LDAP, Single Sign-On).
- Develop reusable components, templates, and portlets for efficient application development and maintenance.
- Perform unit testing, troubleshooting, and debugging of Liferay applications to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Optimize portal performance and scalability through code optimization and performance tuning techniques.
- Follow best practices and coding standards for Liferay development, ensuring code quality and maintainability.
• Collaborate with UX/UI designers to implement user-friendly interfaces and experiences within Liferay portals. • Provide technical guidance and support to junior developers and team members
.• Stay updated on Liferay platform updates, patches, and new features to leverage them for application enhancements.
Skills Required:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
Proven experience (3+yr) as a Liferay Developer or similar role, with hands-on experience in Liferay Portal development.
- Strong proficiency in Java programming language and Java-based frameworks.
- Experience with Liferay DXP (Digital Experience Platform) and Liferay Portal CE (Community Edition).
- Solid understanding of Liferay's architecture, themes, layouts, and portlets.
- Proficiency in front-end technologies such as JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5, CSS3.
Experience with web services (REST/SOAP), databases (SQL/NoSQL), and version control systems (Git).
- Knowledge of Agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and DevOps practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Liferay certification (e.g., Liferay DXP Developer) is a plus.
