Position: Product Development (PD) Merchandiser – Bags
We are looking for an experienced and passionate PD Merchandiser with a strong background in bag development. The ideal candidate should have excellent product development skills, a creative mindset, and extensive knowledge of various embellishment techniques used in fashion and luxury bags.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new bag collections based on buyer briefs, market trends, and seasonal concepts.
- Coordinate with buyers, designers, sampling, production, and sourcing teams throughout the development process.
- Source and develop fabrics, trims, hardware, and accessories suitable for premium bags.
- Prepare costings, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and development timelines.
- Ensure samples are developed accurately and delivered within agreed timelines.
- Work closely with vendors to develop innovative embellishments and new materials.
- Maintain complete development records and follow up until order confirmation.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5–8 years of experience in Product Development/Merchandising for bags.
- Strong knowledge of bag construction and manufacturing techniques.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Beading
- Embroidery
- Sequins
- Handwork
- Macramé
- Raffia & Paper Raffia
- Crochet
- Printing
- Appliqué
- Woven embellishments
- Metal hardware and trims
- Good understanding of fabrics such as Cotton Canvas, Jute, Raffia, PU, RPET, and other fashion materials.
- Strong sourcing and vendor development skills.
- Ability to interpret buyer tech packs and convert concepts into commercial products.
- Good communication, negotiation, and coordination skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Candidate
- Experience working with export houses or manufacturers supplying international brands.
- Creative mindset with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple developments simultaneously.
- Knowledge of international quality standards and product costing will be an added advantage.
Pay: ₹45,000.00 - ₹55,000.00 per month
