About the Role The ETL Tester role involves ensuring data completeness and accuracy through ETL and Datawarehouse testing processes. The ideal candidate will have experience in test planning, data quality assurance, and automated testing. Success in this role requires strong understanding of various testing cycles and release activities, as well as good written and verbal communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Validate ETL and Datawarehouse testing processes to ensure data completeness and accuracy
- Analyze Data Mapping documents and develop test cases, plans, and complex SQL scripts
- Identify and document discrepancies, and work with development teams to resolve issues and re-test
- Create and maintain automated test scripts
- Prepare and present detailed test reports, highlighting risks and issues
- Define and track quality assurance metrics such as defects, defect counts, test results, and test status
- Test Waterfall/Agile Development Projects
- Work with relational databases and database architecture, understanding data models and ER diagrams
- Apply knowledge of dimensional modeling and data warehouse concepts, such as star schemas, snowflakes, dimensions, and facts
Requirements
- Have 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience in ETL/Datawarehouse and Data migration testing
- Possess strong understanding of various testing cycles and release activities
- Have experience with SQL, UNIX, Python, HDFS, and BI Reports
- Have knowledge of IBM DB2, Cloudera HIVE, SQL Server, and Teradata SQL Assistant
- Have exposure to IICS/Informatica/DataStage/ODI
- Hold a B.E./B.TECH in any stream, MCA, or M.Sc. (IT), or a Bachelor's degree
