Job Description – Accounts Manager

About the Role: We are a fast-growing luxury retail startup in the lab-grown diamond jewelry segment. We are looking for a detail-oriented and responsible Accounts Manager to build and manage end-to-end accounting and compliance processes from the ground up. This role requires someone who is proactive, organized, and comfortable working in a dynamic startup environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting & Financial Operations
- Manage complete day-to-day accounting operations for a multi-store retail setup.
- Maintain general ledger, reconciliation, and oversee accounts receivable/payable.
- Ensure accurate daily sales accounting from stores (POS, cash, digital payments).
- Monitor inventory accounting in coordination with retail and supply chain teams.
TDS & Taxation
- Handle complete TDS calculation, deduction, payment, and return filing.
- Ensure compliance with TDS rules on salaries, contractors, rent, professional fees, etc.
- Maintain proper TDS-related documentation and vendor declarations.
GST Compliance
- Manage complete GST process including:
- Monthly return filing (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B)
- GST reconciliation (sales, purchases, input tax credit)
- Maintaining GST invoices, e-invoicing, and HSN documentation
- Coordinate with consultants for GST notices, assessments, and clarifications.
Month-End Closing & Reporting
- Prepare monthly P&L, balance sheet, MIS reports, and cash flow updates.
- Perform revenue, expense, and variance analysis for management review.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
Audit & Compliance
- Prepare documentation for statutory, internal, and tax audits.
- Ensure compliance with Indian accounting standards and retail industry requirements.
- Implement strong internal controls across finance processes.
Startup-Specific Responsibilities
- Set up accounting SOPs and streamline financial workflows from scratch.
- Support new store openings with financial setup and documentation.
- Coordinate with banks, vendors, consultants, and internal teams.
- Ensure high accuracy and agility in a fast-paced startup environment.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, or Finance.
- 4–7 years of experience in accounting, preferably in retail, jewelry, or startup environments.
- Strong knowledge of TDS, GST, and overall taxation.
- Experienced in Tally/ERP software and advanced MS Excel.
- Ability to work independently and implement processes in an evolving structure.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
Pay: Up to ₹30,586.93 per month
