Product Manager is responsible for P&L, scaling up, contracting for the assigned destinations, sales performance measurement and yield management. Responsible for the full product lifecycle of assigned portfolios from planning to the guest experience.
The overall purpose of this position as a Product Manager is to generate profitable revenues by developing and managing products and services. Responsible for all aspects relating to delivering a successful Product – Design, Sales, Marketing and Distribution.
- To prepare a business plan for the assigned destinations.
- Negotiating and contracting :
- Non-hotel contracting (Transport / Sightseeing Tours / Guides / Meals and Attraction)
- Third-party and other local DMC contracting for non-hotel products for product &
market expansion
- Analyse and benchmark market trends & products.
- Proactively plan, develop, own and manage TravelBullz Packages & Products through the
product lifecycle while remaining in line with business timelines.
- Responsible for brochure development and brochure pricing
- Ensure product & rates are active in the system and QA completed before product release.
- To attend travel trade shows (if relevant) and other industry functions as necessary to
continually research & develop products and relationships
- Work with the Sales team and Product Coordinators to design and familiarisation tours for
staff and agents to showcase the highlights of the product for each region
- Preparing tariff sheets and product sales kits and updates.
- Collaborate with the Marketing department for the following :
- To generate marketing sponsorships, brochures, collateral production, and
promotion during various trade events and fairs.
- Plan yearly marketing calendar for product and package market-specific promotion.
- Regular analysis and SWOT or products and providing feedback to the relevant
Contracting Manager.
- Working with Tourism boards to execute campaign promotions and fulfilment.
- Manage product pricing and profitability as per agreed budgets.
- Collaborate with airlines and other partners to develop new tactical promotions and
packages wherever applicable.
- Closely monitor sales against budgets by using available data sources and reports.
- Continuously develop recommendations and implement initiatives that improve product
P&L
- Work closely with sales teams to push product sales through various sales channels. (Key
Accounts/ XML agents/ B2B Online agents etc)
- Monitoring and achieving destination Sales & GOP targets for respective destinations and
products.
- Check the operational viability of a new product/package launch and take in confidence the
respective Contracting Head in local destinations, service delivery and sales teams and
local suppliers and ensure SLAs are drawn and implemented.
- Ensure QA and updating content on Phoenix for respective destinations.
- Collaborate with the Trainers / Tourism Board for exhaustive training and focus to push the
desired products.
- Conduct regular internal and external product & system training before the launch of any
new product.
- Self -motivate and manage multiple tasks. Individual Contributor
- Domain knowledge and minimum experience of 5 -7 yrs
- Knowledge of south east asian destinations products and contracting.
- Experience with B2B business and online systems
- Ability to build strong relationships with key accounts
- Be commercially focused.
- Excellent Communication and negotiation skills.
MUST :
- A background in the travel industry
2. Strong product and destination knowledge, especially for Thailand, Singapore, and Malaysia.
Additional destination expertise is a plus.
