Job Purpose
To train fresher candidates and existing employees in garment stitching operations for both woven and knitted garments, ensuring improvement in sewing skills, quality standards, productivity, discipline, and line readiness as per factory requirements.
Key ResponsibilitiesTraining & Skill Development
- Provide practical and theoretical training to fresher tailors and helper trainees.
- Train operators in handling sewing machines for woven and knitted garment production.
- Conduct training on various sewing operations such as:
- Single needle
- Overlock
- Flatlock
- Feed-off-arm
- Buttonhole
- Bartack
- Kansai and other special machines
- Teach garment construction methods for shirts, pants, t-shirts, leggings, innerwear, and other products.
- Explain sewing techniques, seam quality, measurement accuracy, and finishing standards.
- Conduct skill upgradation training for existing tailors to improve efficiency and multi-skilling.
Production & Quality Support
- Support production departments by supplying trained operators to sewing lines.
- Monitor trainee performance on productivity and quality parameters.
- Reduce alteration and rejection percentage through proper training.
- Train employees on SOPs, operation bulletins, safety procedures, and quality standards.
- Coordinate with QA and Production teams for training requirements.
Machine Handling & Maintenance
- Train employees on safe handling of sewing machines and attachments.
- Guide trainees on basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Coordinate with mechanics for machine readiness during training sessions.
Assessment & Documentation
- Conduct skill assessments and operator evaluations periodically.
- Maintain trainee attendance, skill matrix, and training records.
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly training reports.
- Identify slow learners and provide additional coaching.
Behavioral & Workplace Training
- Educate trainees on factory discipline, attendance, housekeeping, and safety practices.
- Motivate trainees for retention and continuous improvement.
- Ensure proper workplace behavior and teamwork among trainees.
Eligibility CriteriaEducational Qualification
- ITI / Diploma in Garment Technology / Fashion Technology preferred.
- Minimum SSLC/HSC with strong garment industry experience can also be considered.
Experience
- 5 to 10 years experience in garment sewing operations.
- Minimum 2 to 3 years experience as Tailoring Trainer / Line Trainer preferred.
- Strong knowledge in both woven and knitted garment manufacturing.
Required Skills
- Excellent tailoring and sewing knowledge.
- Strong practical training capability.
- Knowledge of industrial sewing machines.
- Good communication and demonstration skills.
- Ability to handle fresher candidates effectively.
- Knowledge of garment quality standards and productivity improvement.
- Basic reporting and documentation skills.

Additional Preference
- Candidates with experience in rural tailoring training, apprenticeship programs, or government skill development projects will be preferred.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
