Job Description: Media Researcher & AnchorRole Overview
We are seeking a versatile, inquisitive, and camera-ready Media Researcher / Anchor to join our content team. In this dual-role position, you will be responsible for uncovering compelling stories, conducting thorough background research, and delivering sharp, engaging news/content on camera.
The ideal candidate is passionate about storytelling, possesses rock-solid investigative and fact-checking skills, and brings a natural, authoritative presence in front of the camera.
Key Responsibilities
- Research & Fact-Checking:
- Identify, pitch, and research engaging stories, breaking news, and deep-dive investigative topics.
- Fact-check data, verify sources, and review archival materials to ensure total accuracy and journalistic integrity.
- Conduct pre-interviews with subjects, experts, and key figures.
- Scriptwriting & Editing:
- Synthesize complex topics into clear, concise, and engaging on-camera scripts.
- Write compelling intros, voiceovers (VO), and interview questions.
- On-Camera Presenting / Anchoring:
- Host and anchor live or recorded studio sessions, interviews, field reports, or digital videos.
- Deliver news with clarity, poise, and strong audience engagement.
- Collaborate with video editors, directors, and producers during production.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: 1–3+ years of experience in journalism, media production, research, or on-camera hosting (freshers with strong audition reels are welcome to apply).
- Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Deep knowledge of research methodologies, source verification, and media law/ethics.
- Comfortable with teleprompters, live broadcasts, or fast-paced studio environments.
- Strong time-management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Political Science, English, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with digital media platforms (YouTube, podcasts, social media news formats).
- Basic knowledge of video editing concepts (e.g., Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro) is a plus.
- A portfolio or showreel/demo reel demonstrating past on-camera work and writing samples.
