About the Role
DrishtiNova is building its Android TV and Fire TV OTT applications in-house as part of the Saganova platform. This role will be responsible for designing and developing high-quality TV experiences, working closely with Backend Engineering, Product, QA and Technical Program Management to deliver a scalable streaming platform.
Role Summary
You will own the development of Android TV and Fire TV applications, ensuring high performance, smooth media playback and an intuitive living-room experience. The role involves building new features, integrating backend APIs, implementing DRM-protected playback and optimising performance across a range of TV devices.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop Android TV and Fire TV applications using Kotlin.
- Implement media playback using Media3 / ExoPlayer.
- Integrate HLS, DASH and DRM-protected streaming.
- Develop TV-specific UI with proper D-Pad navigation and focus management.
- Integrate backend REST APIs.
- Implement authentication and device activation workflows.
- Optimise application performance and memory usage.
- Debug playback, networking and device-specific issues.
- Participate in architecture discussions and code reviews.
- Collaborate with QA during feature validation.
- Maintain technical documentation.
- Follow Git workflows and engineering standards.
