1. Academic Instruction and Curriculum Implementation
- Develop and deliver stimulating and analytical lessons that adhere strictly to the latest CBSE curriculum (Classes XI and XII) for English Core/Elective.
- Teach a wide range of literary genres, including poetry, drama, prose, and non-fiction, focusing on critical reading and appreciation.
- Cover advanced language skills, including note-making, report writing, persuasive writing, advanced grammar, and unseen comprehension.
- Utilize effective teaching methodologies to encourage deep engagement with texts, including group discussions, presentations, and literary debates.
2. Skill Development and Communication
- Focus on developing students' four key skills: Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing (LSRW), with an emphasis on academic and professional proficiency.
- Guide students through the process of literary analysis, contextual interpretation, and formulating well-structured, coherent essays and critical responses.
- Conduct regular speaking and listening activities (ASL) and public speaking practice sessions.
3. Assessment and Evaluation
- Design and administer fair and comprehensive assessments that test both factual recall and high-level analytical skills.
- Provide detailed, actionable feedback on students' written work (essays, summaries, creative writing) to improve their stylistic and grammatical accuracy.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of student performance and progress.
- Conduct intensive preparation for the CBSE Board Examinations, focusing on time management, structure, and depth of content required for high-scoring answers.
4. Student Guidance and Mentorship
- Mentor and guide students interested in pursuing higher education in Humanities, Literature, Journalism, Law, and Mass Communication.
- Supervise and organize literary clubs, school magazines, creative writing workshops, and dramatic performances.
- Inspire a love for reading and literature by recommending diverse and relevant texts.
5. Departmental and School Contribution
- Actively participate in the planning and development of the English curriculum, pedagogical strategies, and resource materials.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a consistent and high standard of English usage across all school subjects.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and reading habits.
