Job Summary
The Inside Sales Officer is responsible for generating sales opportunities, managing customer relationships, supporting field sales teams, converting leads into business, coordinating with distributors/dealers, and ensuring achievement of sales targets through telephonic and digital communication.
The role acts as a bridge between customers, distributors, sales officers, and internal departments to maximize revenue and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities1. Lead Generation & Conversion
- Generate new business opportunities through calls, emails, WhatsApp, and digital platforms.
- Follow up on inquiries received from websites, social media, exhibitions, campaigns, and referrals.
- Qualify leads and convert them into potential business opportunities.
- Maintain lead pipelines and update CRM regularly.
2. Customer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with dealers, distributors, retailers, contractors, plumbers, architects, and institutional customers.
- Ensure timely response to customer inquiries and complaints.
- Conduct periodic customer engagement calls.
- Improve customer retention and repeat business.
3. Sales Coordination
- Coordinate with Area Sales Managers and Sales Officers for order closures.
- Support field sales teams by scheduling meetings and sharing qualified leads.
- Track sales opportunities and provide status updates.
- Assist in preparing quotations and commercial proposals.
4. Order Processing Support
- Coordinate with dispatch, logistics, and accounts teams regarding customer orders.
- Ensure smooth execution of orders from booking to delivery.
- Monitor pending orders and payment follow-ups.
5. Target Achievement
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets assigned by management.
- Track performance against targets and identify growth opportunities.
- Focus on increasing sales from existing customers while developing new accounts.
6. Dealer & Distributor Development
- Identify prospective dealers and distributors in assigned territories.
- Assist sales managers in appointing new channel partners.
- Conduct regular follow-up with inactive dealers to revive business.
7. Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions.
- Prepare daily call reports and weekly sales reports.
- Update CRM/MIS systems regularly.
- Generate reports on lead conversion, sales pipeline, and customer engagement.
8. Market Intelligence
- Gather information about competitor activities, pricing, schemes, and new product launches.
- Share market feedback with management.
- Track customer requirements and emerging market trends.

Educational Qualification
- Graduate in Business, Marketing, Commerce, or related field.
- MBA (Marketing) preferred.
ExperiencePreferred:
- 2–5 years of Inside Sales, Tele Sales, Customer Service, or Sales Coordination experience.
- Experience in Pipes, Water Tanks, Building Materials, PVC, CPVC, Plumbing, Hardware, Construction Materials, or FMCG industries preferred.
