What you’ll achieve
In a rapidly evolving geopolitical landscape, export controls have never been more important. Global export controls are undergoing a fundamental transformation. Regulatory bodies are moving beyond traditional multilateral frameworks to impose new, autonomous controls on cutting-edge technologies making export compliance one of the most dynamic and strategically important areas in trade today.
Reporting to the EMEA Trade Compliance Director, you will be part of a team that manages both import and export compliance activities across EMEA. You will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing regulatory environment, collaborating with internal teams such as Legal, Logistics, and Tax, as well as external partners and government agencies to support and enable growth while maintaining an exceptional level of compliance.
You will:

Make informed decisions about the types of export licences needed to export Dell products outside of the EU, navigating the latest EU Dual-Use Control List updates — including expanded controls on emerging technologies such as semiconductors, and advanced materials.

Participate in the process of submitting export licence applications and managing the end-to-end process.

Provide strategic guidance on export compliance requirements to internal stakeholders, translating complex regulations into practical, actionable advice.

Lead and support cross-functional initiatives to strengthen and enhance both our regional and global compliance programmes.

Monitor and interpret national control list developments across EU Member States, including changes arising from the EU's evolving autonomous control measures.

Build and maintain effective working relationships with government authorities, regulatory bodies, and industry peers across the EU and beyond.

Advise leadership on risk exposure and emerging regulatory trends in real time.

Essential:

5+ years' experience managing EU dual-use export licensing processes.

Working knowledge of US export controls (EAR/ITAR), restricted/denied party screening, and embargo controls.

Demonstrated understanding of key export compliance and customs procedures.

Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex, technical regulations to diverse audiences across all levels of the organisation.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and risk management skills
-
A strong focus on modernisation and process improvement.
Desirable:
-
Familiarity with the 2025 EU Dual-Use Regulation update (Delegated Regulation EU 2025/2003) and its implications for emerging technology classifications.

Experience with export classifications for technologies, semiconductors, advanced computing, or other emerging technology areas.

Experience working with multiple EU Member State licensing authorities.
