About PMEX:
PMEX is a Kolkata-based international freight forwarding and courier company operating since 2000. We provide air freight, ocean freight, road transport, customs clearance, and courier services across 50+ countries.
Role Overview:
We are looking for a detail-oriented Operations Executive to manage day-to-day shipment processing, documentation, and client coordination. This is a critical backend role ensuring shipments move on time and clients are kept informed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and book shipments with carriers (DHL, FedEx, UPS and others)
- Prepare shipping documents — airway bills, invoices, packing lists, customs declarations
- Coordinate with clients for shipment pickup, documentation, and status updates
- Track shipments and proactively communicate exceptions or delays to clients
- Liaise with customs brokers and carrier representatives
- Maintain shipment MIS and update internal systems accurately
- Ensure compliance with import/export documentation requirements
Requirements:
- 0–2 years experience in freight forwarding, courier operations, or logistics
- Working knowledge of customs documentation and shipping procedures is a plus
- Proficiency in MS Excel and email communication
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously
- Good written and spoken English
