Purpose of the Job:
The Product Manager – Transport Excellence & Digital Logistics is responsible for driving end-to-end transformation across Apollo Tyres global transportation ecosystem. The role ensures seamless deployment, adoption, and continuous enhancement of Transport Management Systems (TMS), Digital Transportation Control Tower, real-time visibility platforms, freight procurement tools, and the full Indent-to-Payment (I2P) cycle.
The role creates standardized processes and scalable digital capabilities across domestic and export operations to improve visibility, reliability, customer experience, and cost optimization. This position is central to elevating Apollo’s transport digital maturity, enabling predictive insights, strengthening governance, and supporting business growth with data-driven decision-making.
Major Responsibilities:
1. Lead Digital Transportation System Deployment & Optimization:
- Lead functional deployment of TMS across Apollo and logistics partners; map AS-IS processes, design TO-BE workflows, develop BRD and solution design, standardize key modules (tracking, I2P, ePOD, planning, tendering), and ensure integration with SAP, IoT, and procurement systems. Ensure integration with ERP, IoT/telemetry, and procurement platforms.
2. Build & Operate the Transport Control Tower for Real-Time Visibility & Predictive Insights:
- Develop global Control Tower capability with predictive alerts, geofencing, IoT tracking, exception dashboards, automated notifications, and early warning systems to ensure 100% visibility across domestic and export networks.
3. Strengthen Transport Procurement & Cost Excellence Using Digital Freight Tools.
- Deploy digital freight sourcing tools, reverse e-auctions, rate governance, lane benchmarking, and data-driven negotiation frameworks to optimize cost while maintaining service reliability.
4. Enhance Customer Experience Through Predictive Truck Visibility & Advanced ASN Capabilities:
- Build advanced visibility capabilities using predictive ETA, milestone automation, ASN auto-trigger, and accurate ePOD capture to improve planning, dispatch responsiveness, and customer satisfaction.
5. Institutionalize Transport Excellence, Governance & Continuous Improvement:
- Implement global KPIs, SOPs, RCA methods, capability building, and best-practice frameworks to ensure consistent transport performance across countries and partners.
Skills:
- Proven expertise as Product Manager / SME for TMS deployment (e.g., Blue Yonder, Zeus, Pando).
- Strong capability in building Digital Control Tower, predictive ETA, milestone automation, exceptions management.
- Expertise in I2P digitalization, including dispatch allocation, IoT visibility, ePOD, invoice matching, and freight audit.
- Strong analytical thinking, cost optimization expertise, and process re-engineering capability.
- Technical knowledge of SAP S/4HANA, IoT/telemetry, API integrations, Power BI/Tableau analytics.
- Strong leadership, vendor management, and change management abilities.
Relevant Experience:
7–12 years' experience in transport operations, digital logistics, and supply chain transformation across domestic and export networks.
Education Qualification(s):
- MBA / MS in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent.
- Additional certifications preferred: APICS/CSCP, Lean Six Sigma, Project Management (PMP/Prince2), or relevant product/technology certifications.
- Exposure to Transport digital supply chain solutions programs is highly desirable.
