Position: PYP Coordinator
Department: Academics
Reports to: Principal / Head of School
Experience: 58 years of relevant experience, preferably with IB PYP experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate the implementation of the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP).
- Support teachers in planning, delivering, and assessing inquiry-based learning.
- Ensure alignment of curriculum, teaching practices, and assessment with IB PYP standards and practices.
- Facilitate collaborative planning and professional development for teachers.
- Monitor student learning, assessment practices, and academic progress.
- Guide teachers in developing Units of Inquiry and transdisciplinary learning experiences.
- Promote student agency, conceptual understanding, and inquiry-based pedagogy.
- Coordinate with the Principal, teachers, parents, and the IB team on PYP-related matters.
- Support the school during IB authorization/evaluation processes and maintain required documentation.
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and collaborative learning environment.
- Stay updated with IB developments and ensure continuous improvement of the PYP programme.
Qualifications:
- Master's/Bachelor's degree in Education or a relevant subject.
- IB PYP Coordinator/Category 1 training preferred.
- Strong understanding of inquiry-based and concept-driven learning.
- Excellent communication, leadership, mentoring, and organizational skills.
