Reporting To: Production Supervisor / Factory Manager
Job Purpose
To stitch, alter, and finish garments as per the design, quality standards, and timelines provided by the production department. The sewing operator should have good knowledge of garment construction, operating industrial sewing machines, and understanding of fabrics.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate sewing machines (e.g., flatlock, overlock, lockstitch) to assemble garments.
- Follow stitching instructions, pattern markings, and quality guidelines.
- Sew garments such as tops, pants, dresses, uniforms, etc.
- Perform minor machine maintenance like oiling and cleaning.
- Alter, repair, or adjust finished garments as per requirements.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety at the workstation.
- Meet daily production targets.
- Work collaboratively with pattern masters, cutting staff, and quality controllers.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum 6 months to 2 years of experience in sewing/tailoring (freshers can also apply if trained).
- Familiar with stitching techniques and garment components.
- Ability to read measurement charts and basic patterns.
- Skilled in using different types of sewing machines.
- Attention to detail and time management.
- Basic literacy (preferred but not mandatory).
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or certificate in tailoring/sewing (ITI or similar)..
- Experience in women's wear / men's wear / kidswear .
Salary
₹[8000-20,000] per month (based on experience and skill level)
