Job Summary
The MED Engineer is responsible for developing, improving, and maintaining manufacturing processes to achieve high productivity, quality, safety, and cost efficiency. The role involves process planning, tooling, machine optimization, continuous improvement, and supporting new product development in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Process Engineering
Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for CNC, VMC, and production lines.
Prepare process flow charts, work instructions, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Conduct cycle time studies and improve productivity.
Ensure process capability and manufacturing feasibility for new products.
Tooling & Equipment
Plan and validate tooling, jigs, fixtures, and gauges.
Coordinate with maintenance for machine installation, commissioning, and preventive maintenance.
Support machine trials and process validation.
Continuous Improvement
Implement Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, Poka-Yoke, and other continuous improvement initiatives.
Reduce cycle time, rejection, rework, and manufacturing costs.
Monitor Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and implement improvement actions.
Production Support
Resolve daily manufacturing and process-related issues.
Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) using tools such as 5 Why and Fishbone Diagram.
Coordinate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Planning departments.
Quality Assurance
Ensure products meet customer specifications and quality standards.
Support PPAP, APQP, FMEA, Control Plans, and Process Validation activities.
Participate in customer and internal audits.
Documentation
Maintain process sheets, work instructions, engineering change records, and technical documentation.
Update BOMs, process layouts, and engineering records whenever changes occur.
Safety & Compliance
Follow all EHS and company safety regulations.
Ensure safe manufacturing practices and compliance with quality standards.
Required Qualifications
Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
2–8 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in the automotive or engineering industry.
Required Skills
Knowledge of CNC/VMC machining processes.
Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, TPM, and Six Sigma concepts.
Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T.
Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and MSA.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD/SolidWorks (preferred).
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
