Position: Nursing Superintendent

Job Summary
The Nursing Superintendent is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and supervising all nursing services in the hospital. The role ensures high-quality patient care, effective nursing administration, compliance with NABH standards, staff development, and efficient utilization of nursing resources.
Key Responsibilities1. Nursing Administration
- Manage and supervise all nursing personnel across departments.
- Prepare and monitor duty rosters, shift schedules, and manpower allocation.
- Ensure adequate nursing coverage in OPD, IPD, ICU, OT, Emergency, Dialysis, and specialty units.
- Monitor nursing attendance, leave management, and discipline.
2. Patient Care Management
- Ensure delivery of safe, ethical, and quality nursing care.
- Monitor patient satisfaction and address patient complaints related to nursing services.
- Ensure proper implementation of nursing care plans and documentation.
- Conduct regular nursing rounds and audits.
3. NABH & Quality Compliance
- Ensure compliance with NABH standards and hospital policies.
- Maintain nursing records, registers, and documentation.
- Participate in quality improvement programs and internal audits.
- Monitor infection control practices and patient safety initiatives.
4. Staff Training & Development
- Organize induction and orientation programs for new nursing staff.
- Conduct regular nursing education, workshops, and skill development sessions.
- Evaluate staff performance and identify training needs.
- Guide and mentor nursing supervisors and staff nurses.
5. Infection Prevention & Control
- Ensure compliance with hand hygiene protocols.
- Monitor biomedical waste management practices.
- Coordinate with Infection Control Committee.
- Ensure implementation of isolation and safety protocols.
6. Resource Management
- Monitor availability of medicines, consumables, and nursing equipment.
- Coordinate with Stores, Biomedical, Pharmacy, and Purchase departments.
- Ensure proper maintenance and utilization of nursing equipment.
7. Coordination & Communication
- Coordinate with doctors, department heads, HR, Quality, and Administration.
- Attend management meetings and submit nursing reports.
- Ensure effective communication between nursing staff and other departments.
8. Emergency & Risk Management
- Ensure preparedness for medical emergencies and disaster management.
- Participate in code drills (Code Blue, Code Red, etc.).
- Investigate incidents, medication errors, and patient complaints.
Qualification
- B.Sc. Nursing / M.Sc. Nursing (Preferred)
- Valid Nursing Council Registration.
- Certification in Hospital Administration or Quality Management is an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 8–15 years of nursing experience.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial nursing role.
- Experience in NABH-accredited hospitals preferred.

Working Hours: As per hospital policy.
Employment Type: Full-Time.
Pay: ₹36,264.77 - ₹94,282.35 per month
