Agent Architect, Inference and Agentic AI
Paytm is a pioneer of digital payments in India, serving over 450 million consumers and 45 million merchants across payments, financial services, and commerce. Over the years, Paytm has built deep in-house capabilities across technology, data, and operations to operate at scale with high reliability.
Paytm has developed its own AI Agentic Platform, proprietary AI models for payments and credit, and a text and voice based AI conversation stack that powers business critical workflows internally.
Paytm’s QR codes, soundbox, and real time settlements transformed how small and medium merchants operated in India. With AI agents now being built and deployed at scale internally at Paytm, we aim to create a similar shift for the next generation of Paytm employees, merchants, users, and enterprise clients globally.
Inference and Agentic AI is a cross functional team spanning engineering, product, data science, pre-sales, and sales. The team owns the full lifecycle of agent based AI solutions, from problem discovery and solution design to deployment and scale.
The team works closely with internal Paytm businesses and external enterprise clients to design and deploy AI agents across use cases such as outbound sales agents, customer support agents, risk operations agents, business analyst agents, and lending collections agents. Several of these agents are already deployed and scaled successfully within Paytm, handling high volume, business critical workflows.
Paytm is looking to hire Agent Architects who will act as the primary owner of client success for agent based AI engagements. This role is designed for management consultants from top-tier consulting firms with 2 to 5 years of experience, who enjoy working at the intersection of client problem solving, product solutioning, and hands-on implementation.
Agent Architects work directly with clients to understand business problems, design AI agent driven solutions, build proofs of concepts (POCs), deploy AI agents and integrate with client systems, and continuously improve outcomes post deployment. This is a high ownership role, requiring close collaboration with product, engineering, and sales teams.
As an Agent Architect, you will be responsible for end to end ownership of client engagements for Paytm’s agent based AI solutions.
Client problem solving and ownership
Engage directly with senior client stakeholders to understand business problems, operating pain points, and success metrics
Translate ambiguous problem statements into structured solution approaches and agent driven workflows and ensure alignment on end outcomes
Act as the single point of ownership for the client post sale, accountable for delivery, adoption, and satisfaction
Product solutioning and POC
Identify suitable agent based use cases and solution approaches using Paytm’s Agentic Platform
Define agent logic, conversation flows, agent workflow, and performance metrics
Design and build POCs through hands-on platform configuration and prompt engineering
Continuously iterate on the POCs using client feedback, until the AI Agent becomes production ready
Implementation and integration
Lead deployment of AI agents by integrating with client systems such as CRMs, ticketing tools, data sources, and internal platforms
Work closely with engineering and product teams to resolve integration gaps and improve platform capabilities
Ensure solutions are production ready, scalable, and aligned with client operating constraints and/or brand/regulatory guidelines
Iteration, feedback, and improvement
Collect structured feedback from clients and end users post deployment
Continuously refine agent behavior, prompts, and workflows to improve outcomes
Track adoption, performance, and business impact against defined success metrics
Collaboration and commercial support
Collaborate with sales teams during solutioning and closure by contributing to use case definition and demos
Support future expansion and upsell opportunities by identifying additional high impact agent use cases
Contribute client learnings back into platform and product improvements for reuse across clients
Experience
Core skills
Excellent client relationship and stakeholder management skills
Strong structured problem solving and solution design ability
Product oriented mindset with comfort working in ambiguous problem spaces
Technical orientation
Comfortable with workflow configuration and prompt engineering (not just using ChatGPT for day to day work)
No core coding required, but light scripting experience preferred (Exposure to Python or Javascript is a plus)
Prior experience working closely with engineers or product teams is valued
Prior experience in building AI Agents on platforms such as n8n, Make.com, VAPI, ElevenLabs is highly valued
Prior experience working on dedicated GenAI strategy or AI transformation projects is also valued
Familiarity with SQL, APIs, event based systems, and data pipelines good to have

Comfortable working on Google sheets, Google docs and Google slides
